I try not to get too personal but sometimes it can not be avoided. Lina and I have reached a long term 16 year old goal! The success is grand and Lina and I are so proud to have accomplished this and not to give up. Not that we have been lazy but it just has taken time to be able to complete it. In 1999 we were skiing Attitash Mountain in New Hampshire, USA and saw a ski instructor race down a steep mogul slope with his daughter. We then decided that if we ever were to have kids of our own they should be able at the age of 10 to float down a black mogul slope. This is of course slightly insane as a target but we are hard core and dedicated skiers and even the first time we met at a dinner in 1997 we started to argue who is the best skier of us – and that is still an ongoing debate 🙂 However, back to the target accomplished – the four of us have for four days been skiing Grands Montets in Chamonix, France. It has been steep, moguls and lots of freeskiing in very good conditions. So much fun and hard work! The kids have enjoyed it to the full extent and we ended the visit by going down a black slope with moguls at the size of my daughters. In one go we went down 675 vertical meters. Target accomplished!

It is of course a much longer story behind this but that is for another forum. We are happily back in Sweden and are thinking of what long term targets we should set. Completely ignoring the SMART rule and just go for it at full speed – proving that will power and commitment beats all rules of average management!
